You have two options this weekend -- you can tackle that list of chores you've been meaning to get done, or you can fire up Steam and play Call of Duty: Ghosts for free. Yes, we said FREE! There is a hefty download required, but beyond that, you can hop in and enjoy the game and all the recently added features, such as Heavy Duty mode. If you end up a CoD convert, you can snag the game for half price. Ghosts is on sale through Steam for $30 instead of its normal $60 selling price. And if not, well, you can jump off the free ride whenever your want or enjoy the free weekend, after which Steam will lock things back up. While you're checking out games, be advised there's a Ubisoft sale taking place. ... Read more...
Let's face it, the Call of Duty franchise is practically a license to print money at this point. As if we need reminding of that, Activision sent out a press release today announcing that it sold more than $1 billion of Call of Duty: Ghosts into retail stores worldwide on the very first day of availability. Helping to reach that figure is that fact that Ghosts launched at 15,000 midnight openings around the globe. "Call of Duty is by far the largest console franchise of this generation," said Bobby Kotick, CEO of Activision Blizzard. "More people have played Call of Duty this year than ever before, logging four billion hours of gameplay. And in the last 12 months, Call of Duty: Black Ops II,... Read more...
Frank Sinatra was one of the coolest singers singers to have ever lived, I refuse to debate this. Megan Fox is a 27-year-old actress who's easy on the eyes and may have a fine career ahead of her if she picks more movies like Transformers and less flicks like Jonah Hex. What happens when you pair the two with a live action trailer for Call of Duty: Ghosts? What you get is a sweet video with Megan Fox shoving aside suitors to shoot down drones with a handgun and Frank Sintra's classic "Ol' Blue Eyes is Back" providing the suave soundtrack. It's a triple dose of cool (Frank Sinatra's voice, Megan's beauty, and CoD: Ghosts' action) all wrapped neatly in a 1 minute and 44 second video clip. "I don't... Read more...
Infinity Ward's highly anticipated Call of Duty: Ghosts comes out on November 5, 2013, which is 10 days before Sony's PlayStation 4 (PS4) console will be available in the U.S. and Canada. If the thought of waiting a week and a half to play Ghosts is just too much bear, Activision comes to the rescue with a $10 upgrade offer so you don't have to skip a beat. It's pretty simple. Gamers who purchase Ghosts on PlayStation 3 (PS3) will be able to upgrade their copy to a PS4 version for $10. Full details will be offered in the weeks to come, but in the meantime, you can rest easy knowing that you won't have to pay full price for Ghosts all over again if you're planning to hop on the PS4 when it comes... Tired of crappy console ports that have been lazily transferred over to PC? So are we, which is why we're thrilled Infinity Ward plans to give its upcoming Call of Duty: Ghosts game a bit of additional TLC for Windows. Set to launch on November 5, 2013, Ghosts will be available on Windows, PlayStation 3, Wii U, and Xbox 360, along with the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 when they come out, making it the first Call of Duty game available on next generation consoles. Be that as it may, it will look best on the PC. Ghosts will be the tenth main installment in the CoD franchise and the sixth developed by Infinity Ward. Previous PC ports by Infinity Ward used the same graphics assets as the Xbox 360 and... Read more...
