Comcast CEO Brian Roberts is making good on the company’s ‘Comcast Cares’ policy. For many, however, it appears that Comcast Cares more about its bottom line than about its customers. Roberts made that clear at Business Insider’s Ignition conference after he was asked point blank by the publication’s EIC, Henry Blodget, to respond to customer complaints about data caps. Roberts first tried to dance around the use of the term data caps, stating, “But they’re not a cap. As we originally posted yesterday, Comcast today confirmed that it has abandoned its bid to acquire rival Time Warner Cable for $45 billion. The deal, which was originally announced in February 2014, was questionable at best, but came under more scrutiny in recent weeks. The company issued a brief statement this morning indicating that the merger has been terminated. "Today, we move on. If you’re a Comcast customer, we’re sorry. The company has drawn the ire of many Americans over the years for its poor customer service and generally unprofessional employees. In fact, Comcast took top honors as Consumerist’s Worst Company in America for 2014 (let’s give it up for the two-time winner).  In the midst of its campaign to secure approval for an acquisition of rival Time Warner Cable, stories have popped up in recent weeks detailing how customer service reps have sunk to new lows to humiliate customers.
