Earlier today we brought you some news on fresh new 2-in-1 devices from ASUS, and now it’s Dell’s time with two new additions of its own. First up is the Venue 8 Pro 5000 Series tablet which Dell says has been designed for “specialized applications and on the go productivity” and is aimed at the healthcare, retail/hospitality, education and manufacturing markets. The 8-inch Venue 8 Pro 5000 features a quad-core Intel Atom x5 Z8500 processor under its glass display display, and can be paired with either a positively minuscule 2GB or merely adequate 4GB of RAM. There hasn't been a lot of excitement in the tablet world, though Samsung may change that. Based on some pretty impressive benchmark scores that popped up on Primate Labs' Geekbench 3 page, it appears that Samsung is readying an Android 5.1 slate called "Chopin LTE" that's powered by an Intel Atom x5-Z8500 quad-core processor (Cherry Trail) and 4GB of memory.The Atom processor is clocked at 1.44GHz with a burst frequency of 2.24GHz. It doesn't support Hyper Threading, but with four physical cores and 2MB of cache, the 14nm CPU is no slouch in the tablet world.
