Continuing its advancements into smaller manufacturing processes, Toshiba America Electronic Components, Inc. (TAEC) announced this week that it has developed second generation 19 nanometer process technology that will be used in the mass production of 2-bit-per-cell 64-gigabit NAND memory chips. Toshiba's already used the technology the develop what it claims is the world's smallest 2-bit-per-cell 64Gb NAND memory chips, which measure a scant 94 square millimeters in size. That's a 25 percent reduction over previous technology.
