If the Ferrari 488 GTB is getting a bit too long in the tooth for your tastes, rest assured that the Italian sports car maker has heard your cries for help. This morning, Ferrari pulled the wraps off the magnificent F8 Tributo. If you have to squint to find the differences between the two cars, we won't admonish you. The F8 Tributo is still based on the same mid-engine chassis that debuted with the 458 Italia back in 2009 and was carried over to the 488 GTB in 2015. The greenhouse and doors are instantly familiar, but Ferrari has spiced things up a bit with the front and rear fascias. The subtle design tweaks make the F8 Tributo 10 percent more aerodynamically efficient than its predecessor.... Read more...
Unless you're surrounding by Ferraris on a daily basis, it's kind of hard not to do a double take when one passes in front of your eyes. Now Ferrari has a new supercar to take your breath away, although your chances of actually seeing it in person are pretty slim. Witness the Ferrari SP38, which is a bespoke model that is based on the outright insane 488 GTB. It's kind of hard to see any of the 488 GTB in this one-off creation, but believe us, the chassis, suspension and engine are carried over. It's hard to say if this is a styling improvement over the 488 GTB, but it is a fetching design with throwback louvers over the mid-mounted engine.   Ferrari says that the SP38 is meant to recall... I’m not going to lie, a tiny tear welled up in the corner of my eye when I saw the first renders of Ferrari’s new 488 Spider. Don’t get me wrong, the “garden variety” 488 GTB coupe is a gorgeous vehicle with more than enough sexy curves to fill a Victoria’s Secret catalog; but the 488 Spider is on a completely different level of beauty (even in the non-flattering shade of blue). Make no mistake, the 488 Spider looks damn good with its top up, but it’s when the top is stowed that the it really cranks up the hotness factor. Like the model that preceded it, the 458 Spider, the 488 Spider features a retractable hardtop (RHT) instead of a “bad toupee” fabric soft-top. The top can be raised or lowered... Read more...
At the Detroit Auto Show last month, Ford and Acura both had the opportunity to take a few shots at the five-year-old Ferrari 458 Italia. Ford unveiled its breathtaking GT, which get its motivation from a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 that produces over 600hp. Acura countered with its next generation NSX, which uses complex hybrid wizardry to deliver all-wheel-drive and 550hp.  Ferrari was likely just sitting back in a leather chair, sipping on a nice Chianti, because it knew that it was about to drop a bomb on the automotive landscape. And today, the storied Italian sports car maker did just that with the introduction of the 488 GTB. The 488 GTB is the mid-cycle refresh of the 458 Italia, and boy... Read more...
