X800's, Giant USB Drives, Gateway DVD, DDR-2 Rumble and More!
Good morning gang, JeffB here ringing in yet another weekend. The HH labs are starting to really pile up with the hardware lately, guess it's a sign that the holiday season is right around the corner. With so much new hardware this year, things should be real interesting. I think there are going to be a bunch of happy little geekmeisters this year come December! Until then, we are going to do our best to make sure you know what is hot or not this season. Here's your news for this morning...
HIS X800XT and X800 Pro IceQ II Video Cards @ hardcoreware.net:
"Today we're reviewing HIS' entries into the X800 market: The X800 XT Platinum, and the X800 Pro. These cards feature a HUGE heatsink, which HIS promises will cool the video cards by 11 degrees more than a standard cooler. It runs quieter as well. You'll be giving up a PCI slot though! Our goal is to find out how these cards stack up in terms of performance and price. We'll also throw in a 9800 Pro so you can get an idea if it is worthwhile to upgrade from your current video card."
DDR-2 533MHz Memory Royal Rumble - September 2004 @ TweakTown:
"It's been a long time in the works but we are finally ready with our DDR-2 533MHz Memory Royal Rumble of September 2004. We check out and compare the performance of memory modules from Kingmax, Crucial, TwinMOS, Mushkin, Corsair and Kingston. If you are on the market for a new set of DDR-2 memory, you cannot miss this article."
Samsung ML-2250 Laser Printer @ Bjorn3D:
"A few months ago, I reviewed the Samsung ML-1740 laser printer. Today, I am looking at the big brother to that printer, the Samsung ML-2250. This printer actually comes in two versions, the 2250, which is the basic printer, and the 2251N, which is the same printer but with networking built into it."
Gateway AR-230 Home Theater DVD Recorder Review @ Tweaknews.net:
"The Gateway AR-230 can be summed up as being an affordable and high quality DVD Recorder with all features and ease of use as your standard everyday VHS VCR. It is easy to install and configure, makes recording a DVD child's play and has every feature seen in its' competitor's products without the expensive pricetag."
The Mother Of All USB Flash Drive Review @ The Tech Zone:
"I just received the mother of all USB flash drives! The Swissbit TwistPRO is a USB 2.0 flash drive with 2Gigs of storage. That's right! 2 Gigs! And this is the smaller of the two TwistPRO model that Swissbit sells. They make a 4GB model for those who are true storage hogs. The extreme capacity allows you to use it for digital photography, movies or use as an external hard drive you can put in your pocket and carry with you at all times. Best of all, the drive is no bigger than a standard USB 2.0 flash drive."
NaturalPoint TrackIR Review @ GruntvillE.com:
"Ever had that feeling you were being followed, but couldn't turn around to find out? Ever lost sight of an enemy plane because the only way you could see him was to keep him directly in front of you? There are two reasons for something like this happening. You might not know which keys allow you to look around. Or maybe it was because you were in the middle of a dogfight and couldn't take a hand off the joystick. Fellow pilots and drivers, those days are over."
That's all for now!
