White House Could Be Ditching BlackBerry For Samsung And LG Android Smartphones
According to the Wall Street Journal, the White House is in the early stages of testing devices from both Samsung and LG. Although there was no specific confirmation, the Department of Defense told the outlet that "We can confirm that the White House Communications Agency, consistent with the rest of the Department of Defense, is piloting and using a variety of mobile devices." It’s not apparent whether or not Obama himself will switch from his BlackBerry.

Samsung and LG were officially mum on the news, but it does appear that Apple’s iPhone is not in the running. And, obviously, neither is BlackBerry. The end may be nigh for the struggling Ontario-based phonemaker. Formerly known as RIM, BlackBerry once held a huge chunk of the mobile market, but its share has since dwindled so low that it’s almost within the margin of error percentage-wise.
