Vizio Recalls 245,000 Potentially Tipsy LED TVs Due To Defective Stands
It also poses a risk of impact injury to anyone who happens to be around the television, especially small children and babies wandering around the area. At present, Vizio has received over 50 reports of its recalled televisions tipping over, though no injuries have occurred that the company knows of.
Affected models were sold at Best Buy, Meijer, Target, Walmart, and other retail store nationwide, along with e-commerce sites such as Amazon.com, Costco.com, Meijer.com, Sams.com, and others from December 2013 through June 2014 for between $370 and $450.
The recall only affects 39-inch (models E390-B0 and E390i-B0) and 42-inch (E420i-B0) TVs with specific serial numbers. You can check the serial number of your television on Vizio's Support site to see if it falls under this recall. There's no issue if you have your television mounted to your wall, though Vizio will still send you a new stand if you own an affected model.
