Ubisoft’s Ghost Recon Wildlands has been around for quite some time, having launched over two years ago (March 7th, 2017 to be exact). With that being said, the game’s developers are aiming to give the game a big going away party before its successor – Ghost Recon Breakpoint – arrives on the scene.

An all-new multiplayer mode is arriving, and it’s called Mercenaries. It’s a frantic PvPvE free-for-all that kinda takes on the guise of today’s popular battle royale shooters. The gameplay mechanics have us screaming out, “Run, get to the choppa!” to quote Arnold Schwarzenegger from the classic 1987 action flick Predator.

You will have to fend off all other players as you attempt to find weapons and gear in order to survive on the map. While this is going on, you will also need to find a series of transmitters that will allow you to locate an extraction point on the map. You must activate three transmitters, fill your extraction gauge, get to the extraction point, and be the first one on the helicopter that arrives to lift you off to safety. Oh, and here’s the kicker: there’s only room onboard for one player. In other words, good luck!

One other thing to keep in mind is that when you die in Mercenaries, your game is not over. You’ll be able to respawn, but you’ll lose all of the loot that you accumulated up to the point where you took a bullet to the brain.

For those that are eager to try out a new spin on the battle royale craze, Ghost Recon Wildlands: Mercenaries goes live tomorrow, July 18th.
