Have you been on the ropes about trying third-place wireless carrier T-Mobile's wireless network, but didn't want to go through the hassle of switching phones, changing numbers, or signing a new contract? Well, T-Mobile has relaunched an initiative that will let you dip your toes into magenta waters with a 30-day "Test Drive".

T-Mobile is trying to show off its new 600MHz low-band spectrum, and as a result, you can sign up to receive a 4G LTE hotspot free of charge to use for up to 30 days. With 600MHz spectrum, T-Mobile says that signals travel twice as far compared to mid-range alternatives, while coverage in buildings provides up to a 4x uplift.

According to T-Mobile, its customers in rural areas stand to benefit the most from its adoption of 600MHz spectrum. More importantly, the same spectrum will form the backbone of T-Mobile's efforts to spread 5G lovin' across the United States.

“Of course, the carriers can’t even get something as simple as ‘try before you buy’ right. They want you to trade in your phone, transfer your life to a new one and burn an entire day switching … just to hope their network works for you," said T-Mobile CEO John Legere. "It’s arrogant, it’s broken and it’s time for backwards-buying to end."

If you decide to sign up for T-Mobile's offer, you will receive a Coolpad Surf Device 4G LTE hotspot, which you can use to provide internet access to any Wi-Fi-enabled device. So, you can light up your smartphone, tablet, laptop, or whatever you choose during the 30-day trial. Heck, we don't see any reason why you couldn't hook it up to your TV and stream Netflix if you wanted to.

There are a few stipulations however; your trial will end once 30 days have elapsed or once you've consumed 30GB of data (whichever comes first). At that point, you can simply return the hotspot to a T-Mobile store. Oh, and in order to take advantage of this offer, you can't be a current T-Mobile customer.

You can sign up for the T-Mobile Test Drive by clicking the following link. The offer is open as long as supplies last.
