T-Mobile To Get Garminfone In June

In April, we told you about T-Mobile's plans to carry the Garminfone. Now, we're getting closer to an official launch. Although the phone was originally scheduled to ship this spring, Garmin is now saying the Garminfone will be available in select T-Mobile U.S. retail outlets in June. The company also gave us official pricing information. As expected, the phone will be available for $199.99 with a qualifying voice and data plan on new two-year agreement.

The Garminfone is an Android-powered smartphone with Garmin's automotive GPS features. The phone will come with a car mount and a charger in the box. In addition to the typical points of interest and navigational options, the Garminfone is tightly integrated with Google Voice Search, letting you speak instructions to move through point of interest information. The phone will also have Garmin Voice Studio, which lets you record custom voices as your navigation prompts.
