T-Mobile Continues Tinkering With Phone Plans By Offering Zero Down Back-To-School Deals

T-Mobile, billing itself as “America’s un-carrier”, is experimenting with different promotions and programs; we’ve seen a contract-less unlimited everything plan and the JUMP plan that lets users swap out their phones every six months, and now the company is running a zero-down promotion.

Customers will pay nothing up front for handsets, instead making monthly payments for their devices. “The number of reasons not to switch to T-Mobile this summer is ZERO," said John Legere, president and chief executive officer, T-Mobile US (presumably with a pun-tastic relish).

The selection of devices includes Samsung Galaxy devices, the Sony Xperia Z, iPhone 5, and more. The complete lineup is as follows:

That’s an impressive list. Whether or not it’s worth it to customers to pay that much every month for the pleasure of using a high-end device remains to be seen, but if nothing else, consumers have some new options in the mobile market, which is refreshing.
