Valve's Steam Winter Sale Kicks Off With Discounts On Over 15,000 Games

It's the time again; Valve has announced that its Steam Winter Sale has opened today for all. For those looking for some incredible deals on some of the hottest games around, you have from now until the very beginning of 2019 to take advantage of this epic sale.

According to Valve, over 15,000 games are currently on sale, with the discounts lasting through January 3rd. In addition to the massive number of games that are discounted, Valve also -- as usual -- is providing a number of games for free on a daily basis.

Here's just a small sample of the titles that are currently discounted on Steam:

  • Dying Light: $15.99 (60 percent off)
  • Jurassic World Evolution: $13.74 (60 percent off)
  • XCOM 2: $14.99 (75 percent off)
  • Yakuza Zero: $13.39 (33 percent off)
  • Star Control Origins: $29.99 (25 percent off)
  • Assassin's Creed Origins: $19.79 (67 percent off)
  • Assassin's Creed Odyssey: $29.99 (50 percent off)

Also waiting for gamers is the Extremely Cozy Cottage landing page, where registered Steam members will be able to gain various items for free (emoticons, profile backgrounds, etc.). You'll be able to get one free item per day from now until January 3rd, 2019.

Voting is also open for the 2018 Steam Awards, with the finalists having been selected by the Steam Community. You can vote in eight categories this year including "Game of the Year", "Best Developer", and "VR Game of the Year". You have until January 3rd to cast your vote, and the winners will be announced this coming February.
