Steam Community’s Voice is Heard, Valve Debuts 20 New Games
Developers can post information about a given game, including screenshots and videos, to Steam Greenlight and attempt to solicit community support. If Steam’s users collectively insist on that title coming to Steam, the game gets a greenlight and the devs can finish developing the game with the knowledge that it has a home. Valve gets the reassurance that it will be at least moderately popular. It sounds like a win-win-win.
Several titles from the first batch of Steam Greenlight games
Today, Valve announced the second crop of games from Stream Greenlight. Initially, the company was planning on releasing only about 10, but as fate (and the quality and number of submissions) would have it, there’s an even 20 new games coming soon.
