Sprint Undercuts T-Mobile With $1 Per Month iPhone 6s Offer

Let me tell you something, Edwin Starr had it wrong when he concluded that war was good for "absolutely nothing," at least as a blanket statement. In the wireless world, carriers at war with each other is good for consumers. It's how we end up with offers like Sprint's latest iPhone Forever deal, which for a limited time is offering the iPhone 6s starting at $1 per month.

Sprint is looking to trump T-Mobile and its "unbeatable $5 per month offer on iPhone 6s" announced just yesterday as part of its JUMP! ON Demand program. Not to be outdone, Sprint countered with what it says is the "world's best offer on iPhone 6s." Beginning Friday morning, Sprint-branded retail stores will offer the iPhone 6s 16GB for $1 per month and the iPhone 6s Plus for $5 per month with the trade-in of an iPhone 6.

You can also get higher memory configurations at reduced rates, all with an iPhone 6 trade-in. Here's a look:
  • iPhone 6s 16GB: $1 per month
  • iPhone 6s 64GB: $5.77 per month
  • iPhone 6s 128GB: $10.53 per month
  • iPhone 6s Plus 16GB: $5 per month
  • iPhone 6s Plus 64GB: $9.77 per month
  • iPhone 6s Plus 128GB: $14.53 per month

"Once again it is clear that the best place to get the new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus is Sprint," said Sprint CEO Marcelo Claure. "New and existing customers who trade in their current iPhone 6 can now get a device for only $1/month, making it the best way to get the iPhone – and a yearly upgrade is included in this charge. We are certain that more people will continue to switch to Sprint because of the great service and value we offer."

The deal is part of Sprint's iPhone Forever program, which allows you to upgrade to the latest iPhone whenever a new generation model comes out. You don't have to pay off the remaining balance when upgrading, it's all included in the monthly lease.

T-Mobile, the ball is in your court.
