Sprint to Take Pre-Orders for HTC EVO 4G LTE on May 7

Sprint invites you to "fall in love all over again." With whom, you might wonder? A smartphone, of course, and not just any smartphone, but the upcoming EVO 4G LTE from HTC. In anticipation of what looks to be a hot device, Sprint has put up a pre-order page, but don't pull a muscle in your click finger sprinting over there. It's essentially a place holder page until May 7, which is when you'll be able to place your pre-order.

The HTC EVO 4G LTE is the follow-up to the HTC EVO 4G, but instead of WiMAX, it supports the sexier LTE standard. Hardware specs and features include a 4.7-inch 1280x720 HD IPS display, 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB internal storage (expandable via microSD card slot), virtual QWERTY keyboard, 1.3MP front-facing camera, 8MP rear-facing camera, 2000mAh battery, and Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) with HTC Sense piled on top.

Of course, the big upgrade is the addition of a 4G LTE radio, and interestingly enough, Sprint hasn't yet cut the ribbon on its 4G LTE network. However, it's coming, starting with Atlanta, Baltimore, Dallas, Houston, Kansas City, and San Antonio by mid-2012.
