Sprint Plans To Turn On LTE Network On July 15
Sprint customers who have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of the carrier's 4G LTE network won't have to wait much longer. On July 15, Sprint will flip the switch and turn on its 4G LTE network in Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, Kansas City and San Antonio. Sprint plans to launch LTE service in other parts of the country in 2012 as well, though those markets haven't been announced. In addition to 4G LTE service in five new markets, Sprint is enhancing its 3G network in these same markets. The 3G enhancements will deliver better signal strength, fewer dropped and blocked calls, faster data speeds, expanded coverage, and better overall performance. By the end of 2013, Sprint expects to have completed the majority of its 4G LTE rollout, offering LTE service to more than 250 million people across the country. Sprint already offers a handful of LTE-capable devices.
