Samsung Rumored To Drop Exynos and AMOLED in Galaxy S IV
However, Samsung appears to be changing its tune on that strategy. According to SamMobile, the company is ditching Exynos for its upcoming Samsung Galaxy S IV phone in favor of a Snapdragon 600 (1.9 GHz) processor. The phone will also reportedly have Full HD SoLux Display instead of AMOLED.
According to SamMobile’s sources, the 8-core Exynos chip that Samsung originally planned to use was having overheating problems, and the company was also struggling to produce full HD AMOLED screens, which would necessitate the switch in that regard.
Plenty of folks, ourselves included, are excited to see the Galaxy S IV when it finally launches on March 14th, but these rumors temper our expectations somewhat.
