Reports Say Apple To Upsize The iPhone and Mothball iPhone 5c
Reportedly, Apple will release two new iPhones in 2014. One will have a modest 4.5" display (which still trumps the 4" display on the iPhone 5c and iPhone 5s), while the other will boast a screen that is "larger than five inches." What's becoming clear is that customers far and wide appreciate larger phones and aren't offended by the enlarged form factor. In fact, it's starting to look like Apple isn't even paying attention to the sliding scale of screen sizes... well, unless it changes course this year, that is.

What's interesting beyond the larger form factor is that the iPhone 5c may be one-and-done. The 5c hasn't sold as well as Apple predicted; as it turns out, most of Apple's clients simply want the best, leaving the 5c with an incredibly tiny market. It's possible that the 5c could hang around as the free-on-contract iPhone after the iPhone 4S is yanked entirely, but it's pretty safe to say that the 5c experiment was a middling one at best.
