PSN Services to Be Fully Restored by EOW, in Most Areas
The areas with full restoration will include the Americas, Europe/PAL territories and Asia, excluding Japan, Hong Kong, and South Korea. Details for Japan, Hong Kong, and South Korea will be announced later.
Meanwhile, Sony will also resume Music Unlimited powered by Qriocity for PS3, PSP, VAIO and other PCs. Restoration information for the remaining Qriocity services on Qriocity will be announced as it becomes available.
"We have been conducting additional testing and further security verification of our commerce functions in order to bring the PlayStation Network completely back online so that our fans can again enjoy the first class entertainment experience they have come to love. We appreciate the patience and support shown during this time."Despite assurances of enhanced security, Sony properties globally have become the whipping boy of hackers, with several sites being hacked (Greece, Canada, etc.) since the PSN was partially restored.
In one case, the hackers admitted it wasn't about stealing anything from Sony, but embarrassing the company further. The comment was, "This isn't a 1337 h4x0r, we just want to embarrass Sony some more."
