Pixel 3 Launching With Pixel Stand Google Assistant Wireless Charging Dock

Google has had a difficult time keeping its upcoming Pixel 3 smartphone a secret. There have been an abundance of leaks, with one from last week confirming that the device has a single rear camera and a notched screen. Previous leaks had shown what the device will look like in its black and white versions. A new Google app 8.14 beta has also rolled out, which features some code that references a companion device called the "Pixel Stand."

The Pixel Stand is expected to launch along with the Pixel 3 smartphone this fall. The code suggests that the Pixel Stand will let users get "personalized help" when the smartphone is docked. The code in question can be read below:

There are other interesting tidbits in the new app as well, including a change that moves "Mobile Calling" settings from previous versions into a "Video & Voice Apps" menu. Other code in the app references something called "Herbie", though it's not clear if this is a code name for a new feature or another hardware device.

Herbie could be a reference to the famous car from the "Love Bug" movies and TV show, but whatever it is, Herbie does seem to be related to automobiles in some way. The code in the updated app shows that the "At a Glance" widget is now compatible with Android 4.2 or higher. It only worked with devices running Android 7.0 or higher previously.
