Pandora Debuts $15 A Month Unlimited Premium Family Plan
Pandora is taking a page from Spotify's book and has unveiled a new plan that will let multiple family members have their own sub-accounts. The Pandora Premium Family Plan costs $14.99 per month, which is the same price Spotify asks for its family account. The new membership gives full access to Pandora Premium features for up to six people in the family.
That is where Pandora is trying to set itself apart from the Spotify family plan with its five member slots. Each family member can listen to what they want, when they want. Each can create radio stations and custom playlists, download music for offline listening, and skip or replay songs. All music on the Premium Family Plan is accessible without ads.
If you are on a trial right now and upgrade to the Pandora Premium Family Plan you will be charged right away. There is a caveat to the new plan if you subscribed via iTunes, Google Play, Roku, or Amazon Appstore; you can’t upgrade to the family plan. You would have to cancel your current subscription or wait for it to expire before you can change to the family plan.
Under the family plan, you also can't stream from one account to multiple devices at the same time. Each device would need its own account. Each person on the family account will sign up by responding to invites sent out from the account administrator.
