Owners of Unlocked and Developer Edition HTC One Devices Now Receiving KitKat Upgrade
Neither of the above mentioned smartphones are tethered to a specific wireless carrier, therefore they didn't need to go through a lengthy carrier certification process. However, that isn't true of the remaining HTC One devices in the U.S., which are offered by all four major wireless carriers (AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, and T-Mobile).
Coinciding with HTC's roll out, Google announced on its Google+ page for Android that Samsung Galaxy S4 owners have also started receiving the update as well. Regardless of the device you're rocking, KitKt introduces a number of core and supplementary features, such as the ability to use your voice to do certain tasks ("Ok Google"), faster multitasking, prioritized contacts, a smarter caller ID, and many more.
