Oculus Founder Palmer Luckey Hand-Delivers First Rift To Alaskan Customer

Those who've preordered an Oculus Rift or are planning to get one in the near future are in for quite a treat. To help get people kick-started on the awesome VR journey ahead, Oculus includes two free games, Lucky's Tale and EVE Valkyrie. Two games are a great bonus, but for Ross Martin, his Rift came with a perk beyond that: a personal visit from Oculus founder Palmer Luckey.

Ross happened to be the very first person to preorder the Rift, so to give his thanks, Luckey decided to pay him a visit. While Ross at first seems a little unenthusiastic, we'd wager that he was merely so taken back by the fact that the creator of the product actually showed up to hand-deliver the must-have tech gadget.

Luckey didn't merely drop the Rift off and scoot, however; he stuck around and conducted an unboxing, and even helped Ross get the headset comfortably installed on his noggin. Palmer and Ross even talked long enough to discover that both have had similar upbringings. "We are both big gamers, and we were both homeschooled as kids. The biggest difference is that I grew up with surfboards while he grew up with sled dogs," said Luckey.

Unfortunately, Ross has his packages delivered somewhere other than his house, so he didn't have a gaming rig setup and ready to go. But we're willing to bet that Ross' PC got an overtime workout last night as soon as he arrived home.
