No Golden Spike, But Tesla Completes Coast-To-Coast Free Supercharger Stations For Model S
It’s a rather circuitous path, not at all a straight shot; starting from the Northwest, you can drive from Seattle down through L.A., over to New England, and down to the tip of Florida. Parts of Texas have them, too.
Elon Musk tweeted that now, 80% of the U.S. population is covered with the 71 stations. More stations on that route on “coming soon”, and later this year and into 2015, it looks like the whole country and parts of Canada will be in range of a Supercharger station.
You can get a half-charge for your Tesla Model S in as little as 20 minutes at one of the stations, which are located strategically near travel-friendly amenities such as restaurants, shopping centers, and more.
By the end of the year, Tesla plans to have huge swathes of Europe covered, too.
