Nintendo’s Pint-Sized NES Classic Edition Bundles 30 Games And Controller For $60

NES Classic 1
We have the feeling that millions of gamers are about to add a new item to their Christmas wish lists. Nintendo has just announced its NES Classic Edition console, which is a miniature version of the blockbuster Nintendo Entertainment Center console that debuted in the early 80s. The original NES was the very first introduction to home video gaming for many Americans and holds a tremendous amount of nostalgia.

Nintendo is playing up on that nostalgia, as the newly announced NES Classic Edition comes bundled with a single controller (you can purchase an additional controller for two-player gaming) and both are dead ringers for the originals. Nintendo also had the forethought to make the controller compatible with the Wii and Wii U. Simply plug the NES Classic Controller into a Wii Remote and you can use it to play Virtual Console NES games.

Best of all, the NES Classic Edition comes with 30 classic NES games built in so that you can instantly start busting bricks as Mario in Super Mario Bros or catch some serious air in Excitebike. The NES Classic Edition also comes bundled with an HDMI cable so that you have everything you need to hook the miniature console to your HDTV.

And you won’t even have to worry about losing your game progress, as Nintendo has you covered. “If you ever need to step away from the NES Classic Edition in the middle of a tough level, don’t worry about losing any hard-earned progress,” Nintendo writes. “Each game has multiple suspend points, so you can start where you left off at a later time, no passwords needed.”

The NES Classic Edition will be available starting November 11th with a suggested retail price of $59.99. Extra NES Classic Controllers are priced at $9.99 each.
