Nikon Adds Android-Powered COOLPIX S800c, Two Other Models To COOLPIX Lineup
Nikon announced three new additions to its COOLPIX product line. The new COOLPIX S800c is powered by the Android operating system and features built-in Wi-Fi as well as a 16-megapixel CMOS sensor, 10x NIKKOR zoom lens (25-250mm), 3.5-inch touchscreen OLED, full HD video recording, and GPS. Because the camera runs on Android, it has access to Android apps and is able to connect to your favorite social networks using a Wi-Fi connection. In addition to sharing photos via your social networks directly from the camera, you can also use the camera to surf the web or download an application or game. The COOLPIX S800c will be available in September for $349.95.
The new COOLPIX P7700 features a 12.2-megapixel sensor, 7.1x zoom f/2 NIKKOR ED glass lens (28-200mm), a 3-inch vari-angle LCD, full manual controls, and full 1080p HD capability. As the flagship model in the COOLPIX line, the COOLPIX P7700 utilizes a large 1/1.7-in 12.2-megapixel backside illumination (BSI) CMOS sensor to provide the best tonal range and color reproduction. The camera is capable of capturing images at approximately eight frames-per-second for up to six continuous shots. This camera will be available in September for $499.95.
Last, but certainly not least, the new COOLPIX S01 is an ultra-compact point-and-shoot that features touchscreen controls and several Easy Auto Modes. The camera measures approximately 3.1 x 2.1 x 0.7 inches and weighs about 3.4 ounces. Other key features include a 3x wide-angle zoom NIKKOR lens (29-87mm) and EXPEED C2 image-processing. The COOLPIX S01 will be available in September for $179.95.
