Minecraft To Arrive On Xbox One, PS4 and PS Vita In August
In a tongue-in-cheek advertisement, Minecraft says that a "slightly improved" version will hit those three platforms "soon." The Xbox One edition will land in the Xbox Live Marketplace in August, boasting huge worlds and a greater draw distance as compared to the Xbox 360 version. It'll be $19.99, but for those who already own a copy on the Xbox 360, you can upgrade for just $4.99 -- a really nice touch. Sadly, cross-platform play across Xbox One and Xbox 360 isn't possible, and save transfers won't happen, either.
Similarly, PS4 users can expect a larger version for $19.99, or an upgrade from the PS3 license for $4.99.
One has to wonder how much bigger Minecraft can get. It has arguably already reached Angry Birds territory, and if it can remain hot up until the holiday season, who knows how far it can go.
