LG G Pad 10.1 Begins Global Rollout, Comes To The US

Another week, another new tablet to ponder. As the market marches toward saturation, LG is hoping to break through with its G Pad 10.1. The outfit's latest slate is now hitting retail shelves worldwide, equipped with a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, a 10.1-inch display (1,280 x 800), 1GB of RAM, a microSD slot, a 5MP rear camera (alongside a 1.3MP camera in the front), and an 8,000mAh battery.

Android 4.4.2 (KitKat) is loaded onboard, as is Wi-Fi and an unmistakable black and red color scheme. LG itself confesses that this one's trying to split the gap between premium and low-end. While it includes select features from the LG G3 (Touch & Shoot, Gesture Shot, Smart Keyboard, Dual Window), it lacks the raw horsepower that some other flagship tablets posses.

The LG G Pad 10.1 will make its debut in the United States followed by other markets in Europe, Asia and Latin America later in the month. Prices and retail availability will be announced locally in each market.
