Kohjinsha SR8, 7" UMPC With Integrated DVD

This little palette of portable processing certainly won't compete with the likes of the Asus Eee PC or the XO-1 from OLPC from a price standpoint but if you're the type that likes to keep things diminutive, the new SR8 from Kohjinsha is impressive.  Built on Intel's S45GU chipset and sporting an 800MHz Intel A110 processor, along with 1GB of DDR2 memory and a 60GB hard drive, the SR8 is also the first UMPC of its size that sports an integrated DVD super multi-drive.  Its 7" TFT LED backlit touchscreen display runs at a native res of 1024X600 with a max resolution of 1600X1200.  And get this, the little bugger comes standard with Windows Vista Home Premium.  Don't let that get you down though, bunky, because the rest of the deal looks pretty sweet...

The SR8 weighs in at a svelte 2.4lbs and comes equipped with a standard 802.11b/g WiFi, 10/100 Ethernet LAN, Bluetooth connectivity compliment and high def audio output, courtesy of Realtek's chipset.  Battery life is a little pokey at an estimated 3.6 hours with a 2.5 hour charge time.  US retail is reportedly going to be offered at dynamism.com.
