It's Time To Say Goodbye To Windows 98
Well, I'm sure most of you gave your goodbye's shortly after Windows XP was released, but as of July 11, 2006, Microsoft will no longer officially support the software. Microsoft hopes this will get those who haven't already upgraded into the XP(or possibly Vista) camp.
"Consumers and schools will be most affected by this announcement because they will no longer get security fixes," Silver told ZDNet Australia. "I suspect that Microsoft's original extension of the Windows 98 support date a couple of years ago was, in part, to make sure Linux was not brought in to replace these systems."
Windows 98 was a decent OS and it had a good run. I just feel bad for those people still using Windows ME... the horror.
