Google Pixel 4 XL Shown Off From Every Angle, Specs Revealed In This Leak
Another leak of the Google Pixel 4 smartphone has happened, and this one comes out of Vietnam. Somehow a store called D Store Mobile has laid hands on a Pixel 4 XL and shared images of the device from just about every angle, and importantly shared images of the hardware device info screens on board the smartphone. As for how an unknown small store in Vietnam came to have one of the devices in hand, there is no word. We do know that Google makes Pixel devices in Vietnam, so presumably, a source in the supply chain gave the device away.
The leaker has stated that the Pixel 4 XL that is being shown off isn't a final unit and is said to be a test model. Test model or not, it gives another good look at what the device should look like and gives up some hardware details that are mostly a confirmation of past leaks.
One thing of note for this leak that has to do with the camera is that the main rear unit is moving to a faster f/1.73 aperture compared to past models. The leak also suggests that the smartphone camera will snap pictures in 16:9 mode by default despite that the sensors is a 4:3 sensor. This sort of cropping isn't unheard of; Apple is doing the same thing with the iPhone 11 models to fill the wider screen, meaning cropped images to benefit the UI. The telephoto lens details are missing in this leak.
The leak does call out a resolution of 3040 x 1440 for the screen along with 6GB of LPDDR4X Micron RAM. The SoC is a Snapdragon 855 with eight cores, and internal storage is listed at 101 GiB. The battery capacity is 3,700 mAh, and the device in the images was running the latest Android 10 build. A Pixel 4 leak from a few days ago showed off similar information.
