EVGA Rolls Out 80 Plus Gold Certified SuperNova G2 PSU Line with 10 Year Warranty
It's one thing for a company to say they believe in their product, but it's quite another to prove it. That said, it's obvious EVGA truly believes in its new SuperNOVA G2 power supply line, as evidenced by the generous10-year warranty. In addition to a elongated warranty period, EVGA's newest PSUs also boast 80 Plus Gold certification and high quality construction throughout.
The SuperNOVA G2 is available in 750W and 850W models, both of which use Japanese Nippon Chemi-Con solid state capacitors. Should you tear either PSU open -- and we don't recommend you do that, for fear of electrocution and all -- you'll also find a full DC to DC, LLC resonant circuit design to improve efficiency.
A dual thermal control system offers two benefits -- one is that it allows the SuperNOVA G2 line to run virtually silent at low loads, and the other other is to keep the internal parts properly cooled during periods of higher loads, such as playing games or performing other CPU and GPU intensive tasks.
The SuperNOVA G2 line is fully modular, meaning even the main 24-pin ATX power cable can be disconnected. Eventually you'll have to plug it back in, of course, though having the ability to remove all cables can make installation easier in some instances, especially where elbow space is at a minimum.
EVGA went with a single +12V rail design for the SuperNOVA G2 line. Up to 62.4A is available on the all-important +12V rail in the 650W model, and up to 70.8A on the 850W model. Both models are Nvidia SLI ready.
