EVGA tends to aim for the fences with its SuperNOVA modular PSUs, and the new SuperNOVA G3 series is no exception. These high performance PSU are 80 Plus Gold-Certified and come in five models ranging from 550 watts to 1000 watts.
With the SuperNOVA G3, EVGA aimed a shrink ray at the previous generation SuperNOVA G2. As a result, these compact PSUs measure just 150mm in length compared to 200mm for its predecessor. In addition, EVGA has reduced the size of the single fan from 140mm to 130mm. Speaking of the fan, it incorporates a new hydraulic dynamic bearing design for increased performance and whisper quiet operation. And as you might expect, the ECO Intelligent Thermal Control System can turn off the fan completely at low to moderate workloads.
EVGA also claims that the G3 further improves upon the G2 with respect to efficiency (over 91 percent) and also has an extremely low voltage ripple.
The SuperNOVA G3 family is available in 550W, 650W, 750W, 850W, and 1000W models. The 550W and 650W come with 7-year warranties, while the more potent 750W, 850W and 1000W models come backed with a 10-year warranty. Pricing for the PSUs range from $99.99 for the 550W model on up to $169.99 for the range-topping 1000W model.
