Evernote Gains Google Drive Integration For Web And Android App Cloud Storage

Evernote and Google Drive just made a techie baby. Evernote gained Google Drive integration for web and Android app cloud storage. Google Drive is great for storing work while many argue that Evernote is a better organizational tool. Evernote customers requested a better way to combine the work they do in both Evernote and Google Drive. The two companies listened and delivered.

Erik Wrobel, Chief Product Officer at Evernote stated, "Evernote is where people capture and nurture ideas. This integration with Google Drive helps people cultivate those ideas with rich context."

All the files you keep in Google Drive are now easier to access in Evernote. Anyone can browse anything created or stored in Google Drive right in Evernote notebooks, instead of copying and pasting URL links. Evernote users can add any file in Google Drive to their notes without leaving the app. Any changes made to Google Drive files will automatically update in Evernote.

How does this actually work in Evernote? Once you have downloaded the Beta, the Google Drive icon will appear in your toolbar whenever you edit a note. You can click this icon to bring up a full list of your files currently in Google Drive. You can also search or limit the view to a particular type of Google document. If you double click the Google file, you can insert it into the note. Google Drive files display will display as tiles underneath the note or as hyperlinks if they are inserted into the middle of the note. You can click the tiles or hyperlink to take to you the Google Drive file.

Evernote CEO Chris O’Neill stated, “Once people see how well Evernote and Google Drive work together, they’ll use both products intuitively. For Evernote enthusiasts, this is a natural progression. Google is organizing the world’s information, and now Google Drive and Evernote are helping you do just that with your information.”
