Even Intel Won't Jump On The Vista Bandwagon
Apparently the U.S. Department Of Transportation isn't the only major customer putting a hold on buying Vista. Longtime Microsoft chum Intel is putting on the brakes until SP1.
Speaking at the Bank of America Technology conference in San Francisco, Otellini was asked about his take on Vista and whether it could drive demand.
For corporations, Otellini said Vista upgrades will be slow. "I know of no organization doing an upgrade before SP1," said Otellini. "Intel isn't upgrading either (until SP1)."
Hopefully having several large enterprise and government customers holding back on Vista won't pressure Microsoft into another premature release.
