Danger Mouse Releasing Blank CD In Defiance
As the story goes, his record label (EMI) canceled his newest disc, with sources citing a "legal dispute" as the hang-up. Currently, the album is already being streamed online, and while the 13-track album can be heard that way legally, there's no indication of how long the stream will stay live. The plan is to release a blank CD-R, entitled 'Dark Night of the Soul,' along with a limited edition 100+ page book. The artist is hoping that folks who buy it will then encourage them to procure to music via any means necessary. We're told that copies of the blank disc will be labeled as such: "All copies will be clearly labeled: 'For Legal Reasons, enclosed CD-R contains no music. Use it as you will." Sticking it to The Man never felt so good.
