CyberLink's Power2Go 7 Software Enables 128GB BDXL Burning
BDXL is a multi-layer recordable Blu-ray format with up to 128GB of capacity, and while it's not on the market yet, companies are racing to get this type of media out to those who are already running out of space. And before you can actually do anything with the media, you'll need accompanying software that knows how to handle a brand new format. And that's where CyberLink comes in.
The software outfit has this week release Power2Go 7, which is recognized as the first BDXL burning software to be announced. With this new software, users will be able to turn up to four layers of data totaling 128GB onto a single Blu-ray Disc. In the future, CyberLink plans to add BDXL capabilities to PowerDVD, PowerDirector, PowerProducer, and MediaShow. So, now that you've got the software, what about the actual discs? We're sure they'll be hitting the market soon, for a premium price that you'll probably scoff at.
