Carriers Tout Exclusive Colors: Sprint Gets White HTC EVO 4G LTE, AT&T Gets Red Galaxy S III
It's not uncommon for a carrier to brag about being the only carrier in the U.S. to offer a particular smartphone. However, since many smartphone manufacturers are starting to offer the same (or very similar) smartphone to different carriers, carriers are losing these bragging rights. In an attempt to continue to differentiate themselves from others, many carriers are turning to color to stand out. To that end, Sprint recently announced it would begin offering the HTC EVO 4G LTE in white on July 15. In addition, AT&T announced it will offer the popular Samsung Galaxy S III in Garnet Red on the same day.
Both of these color variants will offer the same features as their predecessors. The white HTC EVO 4G LTE will still sell for $199.99 with a contract and will feature Android 4.0, HTC Sense 4, a Snapdragon S4 processor, a 4.7-inch HD display, and an 8-megapixel camera.
The red Galaxy S III from AT&T will also sell for $199.99 with a contract. It features Android 4.0, a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, 2GB RAM, a 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED touchscreen, and an 8MP camera.
