Canon Reveals Two New DSLRs: EOS Rebel T3 And T3i
The digital camera space has evolved quite significantly over the years,
and there's nothing quite like a new DSLR introduction to get the CE
working talking. Well, except for two DSLR introductions! Canon has just
revealed two new ones, the EOS Rebel T3 and EOS Rebel T3i. Both of
these are entry-to-mid-level units, with neither costing over $800 in a
body-only configuration. Neither camera is a major overhaul from prior
models, but it's all about the baby steps when you're trying to keep
pace with Fujifilm, Sony, Nikon and everyone else.
One of the new features on both of the new models is the EOS Feature Guide, which has an enhanced Quick Settings Screen that now includes detailed descriptions of camera settings. The EOS Feature Guide is designed to help first-time users and beginning enthusiasts better understand each camera setting with descriptions and guided recommendations for when to utilize certain settings.
The T3 features a 12.2-megapixel Canon CMOS image sensor, a proprietary DIGIC 4 Imaging Processor, a 9-point Autofocus system and a 63-zone dual-layer metering system. It also has a new 720p video mode, and supports SD/SDHC/SDXC memory cards. The ISO gap is 100 to 6400, a built-in pop-up flash and a price of $599.99 (which includes the company's new EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 II zoom lens). The T3i, on the other hand, has an 18MP sensor, three-inch Vari-Angle Clear View LCD screen, new Scene Intelligent Auto, new Video Snapshot technology and new Feature Guide instruction. It will also be offered in a kit version with Canon's new EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II zoom lens at an estimated retail price of $899.99. It will also be available in a second kit version with Canon's EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS zoom lens at an estimated retail price of $1099.00.
