Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered Hits Steam And Is Immediately Fragged Due To Glaring Bugs
“Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered features fully improved texture resolution and detail, revamped animation, remastered audio and much more,” writes Activision. “Fans can relive the full, iconic story campaign as they're transported around the globe with Capt. Price, Gaz and Soap across all the missions from the original game, including ‘All Ghillied Up,’ ‘Charlie Don't Surf,’ and ‘Crew Expendable.’”
Unfortunately for Activision -- and for gamers -- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is still full of show-stopping bugs. The game currently has received 925 reviews on Steam, 560 of which are negative. The game currently has an overall user review rating of “Mostly Negative”. What’s most mind-boggling about this standalone version of the game, which is available for $40, is that gamers have been complaining about these same bugs for the past 8 months. At this point, you would have thought that Activision would have been able to work through the game’s issues.
The number one complaint appears to be performance issues like frame stuttering, 90 fps lock, and poor mouse sensitivity settings. Gamers also complain that multiplayer is practically dead because nobody is playing it, and when online matches do take place, they are overrun with hackers. One user, ShortSword summed up the feeling of many, writing:
Gouge your customers wallets for the remaster then release it standalone less than a year later for £35! On top of that suck salad, add terrible servers, bad optimization & sprinkle in hackers in MP and you have Modern Warfare "Remastered". Just get the original cod4, runs better, feels better and you'll save yourself some cash for a way better game. I'll do the leg work for you!
What say you HotHardware readers. Do you have any outstanding issues with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered?
