EA Launches Battlefield V Tides Of War 2: Lightning Strikes Update 3 With DLSS Support, Improved RTX

EA isn't happy with Battlefield V and its performance; the game was called out as the big reason that the company fell short of its earnings goal and its stock tanked. EA was lucky enough that Apex Legends launched and brought its stock back from the a steep nosedive. EA is still working on Battlefield V and delivering new content to the game; it has announced that the Tides of War Chapter 2: Lightning Strikes Update #3 is now available.

Two of the key changes in the update are the addition of NVIDIA Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) support and optimized ray tracing for GeForce RTX graphics cards. If those two features don't excite you, the update has also added four-player co-op to the game with Combined Arms.

That means that you can challenge AI enemies with friends and improve your skills before you get into multiplayer action. This feature allows you to play solo if you want, or with three pals and take on eight PvE missions that are all set behind enemy lines with four different objectives, played out on four different maps.

This update has another portion that will launch later that will mark the return of the fan favorite mode Rush. This second portion of the update will launch on March 7 and will stick around for a limited time during Chapter 2: Lightning Strikes. EA also notes that it is working on improving existing BFV gameplay experience with the update. Specifically, Netcode issues are being targeted along with general quality of life improvements on maps and ground vehicles. The full changelog for the update can be found here (PDF).
