AT&T Expands 4G LTE Network, Adds 7 New Markets
Although Verizon Wireless may have the largest 4G LTE network in the US at the moment, AT&T is working hard to expand its network and offer the faster speeds of LTE to its customers. Today, AT&T announced seven new markets that now have access to the carrier's 4G LTE network. The new markets include Bridgeport, Connecticut; Omaha, Nebraska; Bakersfield and Modesto, California; Syracuse, New York; Anchorage, Alaska; and Jacksonville, Florida.
AT&T claims to have the nation’s largest 4G network, covering 275 million people with its 4G HSPA+ network. AT&T’s 4G LTE network delivers speeds up to 10 times faster than 3G. In addition to offering two different 4G technologies, AT&T also offers more than 30,000 AT&T Wi-Fi Hot Spots for high-speed browsing throughout the country.
With the addition of these seven new markets, AT&T now offers 4G LTE coverage in 60 markets throughout the United States.
