Asus Ships Eee Top ET1602 To North America
The ET1602 also includes a built-in webcam, array microphone, wireless capabilities, an optional external DVD drive and an integrated carry handle for making the ten pound system one that's highly portable. Obviously, power consumption is expected to be low with the Atom CPU, and the Super Hybrid Engine promises to "minimize heat and annoying fan noises found in traditional computing solutions." Asus also throws in a memory card reader, touch optimized Opera web browser, and a few other touch-friendly applications (like Eee Memo and Eee Cinema) that give you even more reason to push the mouse aside in favor of getting your screen dirty.
The Eee Top ET1602 is available now throughout North America in black or white for an MSRP of $599, while the aforementioned external DVD drive can be added for $64.
