Apple iPhone X With 6.1-inch LCD And Triple Camera iPhone X Plus Schematics Leak

There are plenty of rumors suggesting that Apple is working on one or two additional iPhone X models with even bigger displays than its current version. And why not, considering that the iPhone X was reportedly the best selling smartphone in the first quarter of 2018 after helping Apple post its best Q4 quarter in the history of the company. The latest rumor, however, is based on leaked schematics that indicate a triple-camera arrangement on the upcoming iPhone X Plus.

Gordon Kelly, a contributing writer at Forbes who previously leaked the final design of Samsung's Galaxy S9 smartphone before it was released, says he obtained schematics for both the upcoming 'budget iPhone X' with a 6.1-inch display, and the larger iPhone X Plus with a giant 6.5-inch panel. Both are bigger than the 5.8-inch display found on the current iPhone X, and while Kelly expects the smaller model to be a best seller, he thinks the iPhone X Plus will have a bigger impact.

The schematics arrived by way of Ghostek, a popular accessories maker that previously had a hand in helping leak the Galaxy S9's design. Starting with the iPhone X Plus, these latest images depict three circles stacked vertically on the back of the phone, positioned all the way on the left side. According to Kelly, this is confirmation of a triple-camera setup, just as Huawei introduced with its flagship P20 Pro handset.

It's definitely plausible, especially since a triple-camera phone already exists. While Apple wouldn't be breaking entirely new ground, it would be popularizing the idea. Try as Huawei might, it just can't seem to get a foothold in the US market, due in large part to security concerns by US intelligence agencies. That said, the third circle could also just be an LED flash. Have a look at the what the arrangement looks like on the current iPhone X:

It features the same three circles, and likewise, schematics would look similar to the new one. Kelly feels confident that isn't the case though, suggesting instead that having three sensors is a way for Apple to once again offer a superior camera arrangement on its higher end model.

As for the budget iPhone X, the schematics reveal a dual camera arrangement on a handset measuring 147.12 x 71.52 mm (5.79 x 2,81 inches). That's longer and wider than the current iPhone X, which measures 143.6 x 70.9 mm (5.65 x 2.79 inches). It might also feature Apple's first-generation Face ID technology, while the iPhone X Plus will be bumped up to a second generation version.

All of this could change, of course, as it will likely be several months before Apple introduces another set of iPhone devices.
