Apple Delays iPad Preorder Ship Dates
Apple began taking preorders for the iPad on March 12 and promised to get the device in users' hands by April 3. Although customers who placed preorders with Apple before March 27 will receive the device by the store launch date (assuming Saturday delivery is available in your area), users who were slow at placing preorders won't get the device until more than a week later.
Apple didn't give a reason for the shipping delay but did say that customers who want an iPad on April 3 can still preorder the device for in-store pickup or purchase the device at stores that day.
The iPad that will be available on April 3 will only connect to Wi-Fi networks. It will cost between $499 and $699 for various storage capacities. If you're more interested in a 3G model that will connect to cellular networks, you'll have to wait until later in April and be willing to pay $629 - $829, depending on model chosen. International customers will also have to wait until later in April.
