Android Dashboard Details Show Limited Jelly Bean Deployment, Ice Cream Sandwich, Gingerbread Still Dominate
That's either promising or depressing, depending on your outlook. Essentially one out of every 10 Android devices is rocking Jelly Bean, and if you own one, then you have reason to grin. But if you're like the majority, your device has either been abandoned by the manufacturer and your wireless carrier, or you're waiting patiently for a Jelly Bean update that you thought would be here by now.

Nearly half of all Android users are still stuck on Gingerbread (Android 2.3.x), which is installed on 47.6 percent of all Android devices. If you toss Froyo (Android 2.2), Eclair (Android 2.1), and Donut (Android 1.6) into the mix, the combined market share jumps to 59.2 percent. Put another away, less than half of all Android users are running a version of Android that's even remotely current.
The only build that comes close to having a significant share of the market is Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0.x), which is installed on 29.1 percent of all Android devices.

It doesn't help that Google is having a tough time fulfilling orders for its Nexus 4, an unlocked and relatively affordable smartphone running a pure version of Jelly Bean.
Sound off, Android users -- which version of Google's open source operating system are you running these days?
