Amazon Temporarily Slashes Price On HTC Thunderbolt

If you've been itching to get your hands on Verizon Wireless' hot new 4G LTE smartphone, there's no time like the present. For a limited time, Amazon is offering the HTC Thunderbolt with a Verizon Wireless contract for a reduced price of $129.99. This special pricing is only available through midnight Pacific Time on Monday, April 25.

As you may recall from our review of the Thunderbolt, the phone has some very powerful hardware including a 1GHz processor, 768MB of RAM, an 8 megapixel camera as well as a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera, a 4.3-inch WVGA screen, 8GB of built-in memory, and a 32GB microSD card.

We also mentioned in our review that the Thunderbolt's original price of $249.99 with a two-year contract is $50 higher than the popular $199 price we've seen with many phones today. Although the extra 50 bucks may not be a complete deal breaker, we're willing to bet most people would rather have the extra change in their pocket.

For now, the HTC Thunderbolt is still the only smartphone from Verizon Wireless that will connect to Verizon's 4G LTE network. This will soon change however, as Verizon Wireless and Samsung will launch the Droid Charge on April 28.
