Acer Delivers Two New All-In-One Desktops
Make no mistake about it -- Acer came out swinging this week. Between the AspireRevo, its new Timeline series of notebooks and these two all-in-ones, we're wondering what the company has left in store for the rest of 2009. The latest newcomers to emerge from Acer are the Aspire Z5600 all-in-one PC and the all-white eMachines EZ1600, both of which we'll describe in detail below.
Starting with the former, you'll find a gorgeous silver chassis, a 24" multi-touch panel and loads of multimedia capabilities. Designed specifically to handle the forthcoming media prowess of Windows 7, this machine promises full touchscreen support at a price the people can afford -- of course, we're not actually told what that price is, but we'll take Acer's word on that for now. The all-in-one PC aims to act as a fully capable multimedia PC, boasting a TV tuner, integrated webcam, video calling and a built-in Blu-ray player that also burns DVDs and CDs. As expected, owners can opt to operate the machine via the traditional mouse and keyboard approach or just start touching things on-screen.
The next machine is the sparkling white eMachines EZ1600. Official details on this one are less abundant, but we are told that it will feature an 18.5" widescreen display, a pair of SO-DIMM RAM slots, upwards of 160GB of HDD space, a multi-format card reader, Intel's Atom N270 CPU and a Wi-Fi module. Now, if Acer would just get around to telling us when we should expect these to land on shelves, we'd be all set.
