Apple Unveils iPhone 3G S & iPhone 3.0 Software

It’s been hyped and anticipated for months. Now, the new iPhone 3G S is finally being unveiled. Announced today at WWDC, the newest iPhone features improved speed and performance. More specifically, the iPhone 3G S is up to twice as fast as iPhone 3G because the iPhone 3G S takes advantage of the OpenGL ES 2.0 standard for stunning high-quality 3D graphics. The new iPhone 3G S also supports 7.2 Mbps HSDPA for faster networking speeds.

Additional features of the new iPhone include longer battery life, hands free voice control, and a high-quality 3 megapixel autofocus camera with video recording capabilities. The new voice control features of the iPhone 3G S let you control both the iPhone and the iPod functions hands free. The new autofocus camera can adjust focus, exposure, color, and contrast to help you get the best possible shot. There’s also an automatic macro focus and tap to focus feature that lets you touch the display to select the focus area.

As one should expect, the iPhone 3G S also includes the newly announced iPhone OS 3.0 software with over a 100 new features such as Cut, Copy, and Paste, MMS, Spotlight Search, landscape keyboard, and more. Finally, new iTunes features within the new iPhone 3.0 software will let you wirelessly download movies, TV, and audio programs as well as iTunes U.

For navigation, the iPhone 3G S has a new built-in digital compass for instant navigation. The Compass application can show which direction you are headed and rotates when you change directions.
